FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The #16 ranked Nova Southeastern Softball team split Saturday's doubleheader against the #1 ranked Tampa Spartans at the NSU Softball Stadium. The Spartans came out hot in game one and secured the 8-0 shut out victory. NSU bounced back in game two behind a walk off RBI double by Cassidy Patterson to lead the Sharks to a 2-1 win, securing the SSC series victory over Tampa.

TOP 4th - Tampa struck first, batting in two runs to take the early 2-0 lead.
TOP 5th - An error by the Sharks allowed the third Spartan run to come across home plate.
TOP 6th - The run barrage continued as a home run by Tampa extended their lead to 4-0.
TOP 7th - The Spartans weren't done yet, tacking on four more runs to take an 8-0 advantage and secure the game one victory over NSU.

TOP 5th - With the bases loaded, Gracelyn Wallace hit a Spartan batter with a pitch, allowing Tampa to bring the first run across home plate.
BOT 6th - Brenna Lokeinsky homered to left field, tying the game at one apiece.
BOT 7th - With Samantha Sklenka on second, Cassidy Patterson stepped up to the plate and hit an RBI double to left field, pushing the Sharks past Tampa 2-1.
